Very busy around here

I have been so busy. Seems like every weekend I have something going on. Last weekend, I was in Seattle attending a jewelry/soldering class. I was also able to catch up with a couple people I haven't been able to spend a lot of time with in the recent past. The two cousins I saw are wonderful people and I am thankful they took time to visit with me.

Today I attended a class titled: Relaxation 101. Wow, I needed that. For $40, four other people and I got five hours with a really great hypnotherapist. She guided us through four relaxation visualizations and taught us some valuable tips about reprogramming the subconscious.

We're having a barbecue tomorrow in honor of Steve's birthday. Should be fun... barbecuing in the rain! Oh, well, you do what you've gotta do when you live in Oregon.

No plans for next weekend except maybe spring cleaning.

Take care. I will post more about the survey results soon, I promise!

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope this finds everyone basking in the glow of love and chocolate!
Steve cooked dinner and brought home chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva's! Mmmm... probably exceeded my WeightWatchers points, but oh, well.

Techno-phobia - ?

hmm...

okay...

Maybe I have an advantage considering that I sit in front of my laptop at a minimum of eight hours per day. And I am used to answering surveys, communicating via email and instant messages. And in my position as a business analyst, using data to make decisions and manage projects. But I must admit, I'm still confused about why in such a large group of people, there is minimal networking. I have created tools to help maximize the ease of gathering data, presenting info, and inviting open communication. So, I'm left to assume... Maybe everyone's afraid of sharing personal information online. I know I hate getting inundated with spam emails but the tools I have chosen to use are secure (linkedin, blogger, surveymonkey, yahoo) and I don't think anyone would be at risk by sharing. Or maybe everyone's just too busy. Please let me know if I'm expecting too much or if you're happy with the status quo.

Also, as long as I'm asking questions: I feel fortunate to have grown up around a large extended family. What I do not understand is whether or not you're sharing this info with your adult kids. Are they interested in knowing cousins, aunts & uncles? I have contacted a couple cousins I haven't met before and they were open to the idea of getting together. But I cannot locate EVERYONE by myself. So I am asking you to either send me your other family members' contact info or to let me know if they're not interested by either leaving a comment here, messaging me at the yahoo group, emailing me directly, or completing the survey.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Goulet Family Yahoo Group

I have created a Goulet Family group on Yahoo. This is a closed group meaning only those invited can participate. Each member will be able to post photos, add messages, etc.

I am hoping a group will encourage more dialogue and family interaction. I just created a photo album but you won't be able to see the pictures unless you join. If you would like to know more, please ask.

If you did not get an invitation, let me know and I will be happy to add you to the membership list.
