A little paint changes everything

I finally decided on paint colors for the living areas of my house. I never thought I was a yellow-person but the color I painted the kitchen is called raffia. It's a greenish-goldish shade of yellow and surprisingly, I love it. It really warms up the kitchen and powder room. I don't think it really goes with the cherry cabinets but I love it. This weekend I want to finish my painting project. The color for the living room is a light brown. I have not decided if I want to paint two shades of the brown but I guess I will see how it looks when I start painting.

I don't share my mom's love for painting but the pay-off for all the hard work is worth the effort.

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! I would love to hear about your holiday plans, your traditions, and what you're most thankful for.

We are going to spend Thanksgiving at my Gramma Mares'. There will probably be over 30 people at dinner. I think my cousin Kevin will be home on leave so it will be nice to see him. It's always a fun, noisy, very interesting event. I'll let you in on Steve's reaction after attending his first holiday dinner with my dad's side of the family.

Before you know it Christmas will be here.Christmas is my favorite holiday. We always have a Christmas Eve celebration at my mom & dad's. We used to go out to dinner and Santa always managed to find his way to our house while we were out. We have always opened presents on Christmas Eve... I think for two reasons: First so we could sleep in on Christmas morning and second, because my dad couldn't wait any longer. Just kidding, Dad.
